(2) Kajian Performansi Mesin Genset Otto 1 Silinder Dengan Bahan Bakar Campuran Premium Dan Super Fuel

Abstract:
The
decreasing availability of fossil fuels led to a variety of ideas how
to solve this problem. Super fuel is one of the alternative fuel that
can be used in various engine, one of which is a gasoline engine
generator sets in 4-stroke. Research done by variation of the lamp and
fuel variations . lamp that is used in research is the 100 Watt lamp.
The variation of the lamp is 2; 4; 6; 8; 10 and 12. the variations of
fuel for the reseacrh is 100% gasoline; 95% gasoline + 5 % super fuel;
90% gasoline + 10% super fuel and 85% gasoline + 15% super fuel . Based
on the analysis , it is known that performance a super fuel mixture
decreased torque, Specifiic Fuel Consumption (SFC), the thermal
efficiency, and Air Fuel Ratio (AFR). But emissions by using a super
fuel mixture , can reduced the content of toxic exhaust emissions such
as carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) . And Residual rate of
oxygen (O2) from the super fuel mixture decreased while the rate of
carbon dioxide (CO2) have increased compared to 100% gasoline .

Semakin
berkurangnya bahan bakar minyak menyebabkan timbulnya berbagai
pemikiran bagaimana mengatasi permasalahan ini. Super fuel merupakan
salah satu bahan bakar alternatif yang dapat digunakan pada berbagai
mesin, salah satunya adalah mesin bensin pada generator set 4-langkah.
Penelitian dilakukan dengan variasi jumlah bola lampu dan variasi bahan
bakar. Bola lampu yang digunakan untuk pengujian yaitu lampu 100 Watt
dengan variasi jumlah lampunya 2; 4; 6; 8; 10 dan 12. Sedangkan variasi
bahan bakar untuk pengujian yaitu 100% premium; 95% premium + 5% super
fuel; 90% premium + 10% super fuel; 85% premium + 15% super fuel.
Berdasarkan analisis, diketahui bahwa performansi campuran super fuel
mengalami penurunan torsi, Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC), efisiensi
termal, dan Air Fuel Ratio (AFR. Tetapi emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan
dengan menggunakan campuran super fuel, mampu mereduksi kandungan emisi
gas buang beracun seperti karbon monoksida (CO), dan hidrokarbon (HC).
Kadar sisa oksigen (O2) dari campuran super fuel mengalami penurunan
sedangkan kadar karbon dioksida (CO2) mengalami peningkatan dibanding
premium 100%. *()
